PURCHASE AREA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION OCTOBER 20, 2016, ANNUAL MEETING 
 
 
The Annual Meeting was held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, Kentucky.        
 
Doug Williams, Missions Strategist from the Kentucky Baptist Convention, spoke to the Association and gave the Association statistics from the year.  He also welcomed PABA to the KBC and stated that it will be official at the KBC Convention in November, and this is exciting!  He also said that we can do more together than by ourselves.   
 
Phil Justice from Sunrise Children’s Services gave an overview of the services that Sunrise offers.  It is an agency of Kentucky Baptists that is for children that are abused and neglected. 
 
Chuck Houston welcomed the visitors and the new association churches. 
 
Reports
 
 Jaime Masso gave a recap of Missions and called upon representatives from various churches to give the Association an update.   
 
 Carroll Evans from First Baptist Church reported that the church went out into the community and did community service.   
 
 Chuck Houston reported that the Second Amendment Night at Life Community Church had was a great success. 
 
 Virginia Smith reported on the upcoming International Thanksgiving Dinner.   
 
DOM Dennis Manley gave his report.  He stated that the next meeting of the Association on January 19, 2017, will be the 10th anniversary.  This is exciting!  DOM Manley stated that all the churches in the Association are involved in some sort of missions which is great! 
 
 Maureen Platt-Russell gave a report about Generations Adult Day Services.  She stated that it could use help by prayer or either partnering with it.   
 
Treasurer’s Report:   The Treasurer’s report was distributed and reviewed.   A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was made by Ron Welch and seconded by Faris Sahawneh.  Motion passed. 
 
Minutes: 
 
 The minutes were distributed and reviewed.  A Motion to accept the minutes as written was made by Dr. Charles Frazier and seconded by Bob Waldridge.  Motion passed. 
 
Old Business:    None 
 
New Business:   None 
 
Bro. Alan Miller brought the message from 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. 
 
The new leadership team was announced.    There being no further business the annual meeting was dismissed by Chris Clarke of the Kentucky Lake Cowboy Church with prayer.
